8 NGS: SUPPORT FOR REAL TIME POSITIONING I.Provide GNSS data from a fiducial network II.Develop guidelines for RTN users and operators III.Actively participate in educational and/or outreach activities involving real-time GNSS positioning IV.Study phenomena that affect accurate GNSS positioning NOAA/NGS Support for Regional Real-Time GNSS Networks (RTN)

9 Positioning America for the Future NATIONAL OCEANIC AND ATMOSPHERIC ADMINISTRATION National Ocean Service National Geodetic Survey PROVIDE REAL-TIME GNSS DATA FROM A FIDUCIAL NETWORK NOAA/NGS would publicly stream GNSS data (not correctors) via the Internet for ~ 200 federally-funded sites Anticipated intersite spacing = 200 km in CONUS Regional real-time networks may use the NOAA/NGS-provided data to calibrate and/or enhance their services (which typically require an intersite spacing of about 50 km)

10 Positioning America for the Future NATIONAL OCEANIC AND ATMOSPHERIC ADMINISTRATION National Ocean Service National Geodetic Survey DEVELOP GUIDELINES FOR RTN USERS AND OPERATORS Positional coordinates obtained using a regional real-time network should be compatible with the National Spatial Reference System User equipment should be able to operate with services from different real-time GNSS services Stations contained in each real-time GNSS network should meet prescribed criteria in terms of stability and data quality

Participate in education and outreach to both disseminate relevant information as well as to acquire feedback regarding the suitability of guidelines promoted by NGS.
