Measuring the Area Zedec Pacaldo

What does area means? A quantity that expresses the extent of a two-dimensional surface or shape, or planar lamina, in the plane. Area can be understood as the amount of material with a given thickness that would be necessary to fashion a model of the shape, or the amount of paint necessary to cover the surface with a single coat.

Area of a square To find the area of this square, the solution is: S This means you multiply one side of the square by itself. 5 x 5 = 25cm 5cm = 2 2

Area of a rectangle To find the area of a rectangle, the solution follows: Area = Width x Height This means that you have to multiply the width of the rectangle to its height. 15 x 7 = 105cm 15cm 7cm 2

Area of a triangle To find the area of this triangle, the solution follows: Area = ½ × b × h b = base h = vertical height This means you have to multiply ½ to the base and height of the triangle. ½ x 6 x 5 = 15cm 5cm 6cm 2

Area of circle In order to find the area of a circle, the solution follows: Area = π × r 2 Circumference = 2 × π × r r = radius 3.14 (π) x 3 2 = 28.26cm 2 3cm

Area of Cylinder To find the total surface area of a cylinder, the solution follows: 2 π r 2 + 2 π r h 2 x 3.14 x 9 (r 2 ) = 56.52cm 2 2 x 3.14 x 3 x 15 = 282.6cm 2 282.6 + 56.52 = 339.12cm 2 3cm 15cm
