2. When we, the people from Poland, hear the word „Portugal” we usually mean “wine”, “Porto”, but not all of us know much about it. It was discovered for the rest of the world by British traders in 17th century. There are five kinds of this wine.

Cristiano Ronaldo is famous and Luís Figo is very famous too. He was playing football, when Cristiano wasn’t born yet. Even though he can’t be a professional player any longer because of his age, he still has many fans and a lot of men and women still love and admire him.

7. People from Portugal took an important part in history
People from Portugal took an important part in history. The man who found the sea route between Europe and India was Vasco da Gama, who was born around in Portugal and died in It can be called a heroic achievement because it required real bravery to stay under Vasco's orders since only few sailors came back to Portugal alive.

8. Another sailor who changed the history was Christopher Columbus
Another sailor who changed the history was Christopher Columbus. He was born in 1451 in Italy. It’s said that he was from Italy, but it is possible that he was from Portugal. He was the man who discovered America. He decided to find a new way to India even though many sailors thought that Columbus had lost his mind. We might say that he didn’t succeed because he found another continent instead of a country in Asia.

9. People
The Portuguese have a lot of beautiful things but people from this country are more important. Polish people don’t know much about them but there are a few stereotypes about Portuguese people that we hold. One of them says that the Portuguese are sluggish and most of them are fishermen. Another one says that people in Portugal are good looking but women dress without imagination. Of course, we don’t believe in these stereotypes. ;)
