Objectives Video editors, video analysis software, dynamic geometry software, spreadsheet, graphing software Software DescriptionStudents capture objects in motion with digital video cameras. Clips are edited for display and discussion in lessons. Video analysis software is be used to capture data for display and analysis. Mechanical launching devices are designed, built and tested. It involves five schools with specialisms covering mathematics & computing, performing arts, science and sports. Each school has teachers from Design Technology, Mathematics and Science who meet regularly in school to work together and with other teachers to develop collaborative approaches. Teachers from the five schools meet together, and with project support people, on a half-termly basis. Click the documents below to help you understand the context of this exemplary learning project: Background & Planning: A picture of the origin and objectives of the learning project, including the manner in which the project was planned and managed. Similar documents exist for Key Stage 4 (ages 14-16). The project relates closely to the national STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) strategy, and also to key curriculum themes such as enterprise, healthy living, citizenship etc. One key aspect of the use of ICT is that gives students access to work at a higher level of attainment than would normally be accessible without it. It is based in five project schools from the Fareham & Gosport area of Hampshire: Bay House, Brune Park, Crofton, Henry Cort, Neville Lovett : www.crosscurricular.co.ukwww.crosscurricular.co.uk As well as making the curriculum more coherent (“joined-up”), relevant and challenging to the pupils and students, this form of collaborative and cooperative work is proving to be revitalising to the teachers involved. A key aspect of its successful implementation is for the school to have one or more senior managers committed to the process.
