2 UTC stands for United Technologies Corporation UTC carries products such as: Carrier air conditioning and heating system Hamilton Sundstrand aerospace systems and industrial products Otis elevators and escalators Pratt and Whitney aircraft systems Sikorsky helicopters UTC fire and security systems UTC Power fuel cells This is Louis R. Chenevert, the Chairman and C.E.O of UTC

3 China is bordered by many bodies of water and products can be easily imported and exported.

4 In the west of the country, there are vast varieties of mountains and deserts. The company will most likely have to build on the east coast of the country.

5 It may be hard to find a place to build on the east coast, because it is so crowded. A crowded street in Hong Kong

6 Telephones and cell phones are widely used Public telephones and e-mail are becoming more popular

7 Level of developing country Can build in a wealthy area There is a large demand for our products

8 There are many businesses already located in China Would need to develop relations with people to beat other companies Some companies that are involved with UTC, such as Otis, are already in China

9 Good railways and roads to transport goods Roads are advanced

10 Military can use aircraft systems and helicopters

11 Employees of UTC will have to get used to multiple new things such as: A new language New writing styles Crowding Diseases

12 New education system School is five days a week Learn English, Math, and Chinese Have to take a test to get into high school If you pass the test, family has to pay tuition New Currency Yuan Have to make currency conversions

13 Monsoon season is year round and can disrupt building/working The products that UTC carries are not really used/needed There is competition. The country already has strong companies that carry the same items Heavy traffic can make it hard to transport goods Monsoon season in Thailand.

14 Vietnam is mountainous with rough terrain, business would be isolated Cell phone services aren't very good Not many people are wealthy and they don’t need some of the products UTC provides Bad roads that aren't fully complete, most roads are dirt and rubble= hard to transport goods Rough Terrain

15 Monsoons occur in India Himalayas in the north, droughts, flashfloods, typhoons, earthquakes= hard to have a business there No home phones, developing public calling offices About 25% of people are in debt Himalayas in the North

16 Some parts don’t have alliances with other nations Need government’s allowance for transportation Government denies communications with the rest of the world
