HISTORY www.socialworkleadership.org 2001-2006 Boston University School of Social developed the GEM (Geriatric Education Model) Program A one year, field-based Aging training model comprised of a field placement split between two “Aging” agencies A monthly seminar taught by participating field instructors. Each year, 4-6 students participated in the program and received small stipends. These students were either already interested in aging or were encouraged to consider the field and understand the demographics.
