6  No National Bank to steady currency.  States made many loans  Farmers do borrow a significant amount of money to settle and setup farms.  Speculators took out even more loans and purchased more land in hopes of getting rich (** or die trying, j/k)  In order to keep up with currency demands the state banks printed more currency, thus causing major inflation.  Jackson tried to prevent speculation by forcing ppl to buy the new land with gold or silver…there was a rush on the banks and they didn’t have enough G or S.

8  Whig agenda: 1.) New Bank of the U.S. and improve infrastructure. 2.) High tariffs  President Harrison dies from pneumonia.  Tyler vetoed the new bank charter (DRAMA!!) #Nohedidnt  Whigs kick Tyler out of their part (his Cabinet resigns)…Tyler does little as President  Lesson learned, don’t p-off your base.
