How Honey Is Made Honey is made from Honey Bees. A certain type of worker bee goes out to get nectar and spread pollen Another type takes the nectar from the bee And buts in honey combs Another group fans the nectar to make honey

What the queen does The queen just has babies called Larvae. She can have up to 20 larvae per minute. There are male bees called drones. Their only job is to mate with the queen.

For the love of Honey Long ago, many Romans loved HONEY. They often called it the “nectar from the gods”. They put it on everything. Just about every ancient roman cookbook had ¾ of its recipes contained honey and a lot of it Romans loved honey, and would do anything to get it.

War not love. As I have previously said, Romans love honey, maybe a little to much. In modern day Turkey, near the Black Sea, is a flower called the RHODODENDRON. It’s nectar was poisonous the bees near it became immune to the poison and made honey from it, if you eat too much of it you can die they call this ‘MAD HONEY’.

War not love, Pt.2 In 65 B.C., the Roman General Pompey and his army were winning battles against the army of Mithridates, king of Pontus or Modern day Turkey. They knew the Romans weakness, their sweet tooth. So they left large clayfuls of ‘MAD HONEY’. It caused the Roman’s to pass out. The mithridates came and killed them.
