APPLICATION PROCESS DOSSIER IS REVIEWED BY THE PROMOTION AND TENURE COMMITTEE WITH TWO MEMBERS WRITING REVIEWS THE COMMITTEE DOES NOT VOTE OR RECOMMEND

APPLICATION PROCESS EXTERNAL LETTERS OF REVIEW –THE BIGGEST BOTTLENECK –EXPERTS WHO ARE NOT FRIENDS, MENTORS, OR COLLABORATORS –5 TO 8 LETTERS –TWO MAY BE FROM CANDIDATE SUGGESTIONS –DO NOT RECOMMEND BUT EVALUATE THE CANDIDATE

APPLICATION PROCESS JULY THRU SEPTEMBER – THE P&T COMMITTEE REVIEWS, DOSSIER, AND LETTERS ARE REVIEWED AND VOTED ON BY A MEETING OF ALL ELIGIBLE FACULTY ADVISORY TO THE DEPARTMENT CHAIR

APPLICATION PROCESS OCTOBER – DEPARTMENT SUBMITS SUPPORT LETTERS AND COMMENT FORM TO CANDIDATE FOR REVIEW AND SIGNATURE. NOVEMBER 15 - COLLEGE DEADLINE FOR PROMOTION AND TENURE APPLICATIONS

APPLICATION PROCESS IF APPROVED BY COLLEGE AND DEAN, GOES FORWARD TO THE OFFICE OF ACADEMIC AFFAIRS AND PROVOST. PROVOST NOTIFIES COLLEGE AND SUBMITS RECOMMENDATION TO THE BOARD. FINAL APPROVAL REQUIRED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES. THE BOARD COMPLETES REVIEWS DURING ITS JUNE MEETING.
