2
Expectations Learn to make Web-enhanced lessons Participate in collaborative learning Be able to compare student learning as a result of technology enriched lessons Learn to utilize online lesson plans
3
Learning Outcomes Learned various html editors Learned information literacy skills Learned to utilize the Web for student instruction Learned file transfer protocol
4
Lesson Successes Student interest increased Web-based materials were easy to access Students learned Web search skills Students could see atomic activity as a result of their gas simulations
5
Lesson Shortcomings Lesson requires computer lab Lesson needs simulation software such as Interactive Physics Time may be required for students to gain basic computer skills
6
Lesson Summary Lesson combines computer technology with traditional methods for teaching chemistry Technology Component of lesson Includes Web research Includes Scientific Simulation Software Includes Desktop Publishing Skills
7
Simulations

Student Results The following three slides show student results for one class with comparisons of their Pre and Post test The next two slides compare this year’s students with students from last year Students studied the same topic using similar tests but only this year’s students had the technology enriched lesson.
16
Reflections and Revisions Computer lab needs updating Students need to develop their computer skills before the lesson We are currently working to update both our computers and software Computer applications will be given to all ninth graders starting next year
17
Conclusions I observed that through the use of moving pictures, hands-on activities, and sound students gained improved understanding of the lesson Computers are excellent tools to deliver multimedia enhanced lessons Computers produce scientific visualizations impossible to complete in the real lab.
