QUESTIONS 1.What is the relationship between an independent and a dependent variable? The dependent variable depends on the independent variable. The employees work x hours and make a total of y dollars. The amount of money they make, y, depends on the number of hours they work, x. The hours are the independent varaible, and the money made is the dependent variable. 2.What are three ways to represent a direct variation? You can represent a direct variation by line graph (line has to be straight starting at 0,0), tables, and Y=KX. 3.What is the difference between an equation and an inequality? An equation has = and inequalities have,. Equations only have one answer, but inequalities can have a lot of answers.
