Effects of Plant Age and Quality on Gratiana boliviana Performance on Tropical Soda Apple by Divina Amalin Jined Lamata Luis Bradshaw Amy Roda Catharine Mannion

OBJECTIVES to evaluate the feeding and reproductive performance of G. boliviana on different ages of TSA plant to determine the plant quality in different ages of TSA plant and its relation to G. boliviana performance

METHODOLOGY Plant ages (2, 3, 3+ month old) Leaf categories ( young, middle, old) Plant in bugdorm 10 adults (5 ♀ :5 ♂ ) 3 replications Data gathered (leaf consumption, # eggs laid, leaf nutrient)

Feeding performance and reproductive performance of G. boliviana

Reproductive performance of G. boliviana

Plant age and leaf age category interaction on feeding performances and reproductive performance of G. boliviana Leaf Category IIII III AB

CONCLUSION G. boliviana preferred younger plants but more so younger leaves Nutrient level in different ages of TSA plant and age of the leaves seems to have an effect on the insect preference
