UNIVERSITY 102 LEARNER OUTCOMES Students will gain a broader perspective regarding topics such as diversity, cultural sensitivity and adversity. Student will develop a substantial foundation of skills and strategies for academic success regarding topics such as time management, goal setting, test taking, motivation, and critical reading. Students will be able to identify the positive benefits and values of establishing good study habits early on in their academic career. Students will be aware of the array of struggles and challenges college students face. Students will gain understanding of how their individual independence, emotional intelligence, wellness, and personal attitude influence their academic performance and success.

ACADEMIC RECOVERY GROUP Designed for students who are not performing up to university set academic standard Meetings focus on enhanced study strategies and techniques Appropriate referrals made to necessary resources Emphasis group is not a punishment but additional support for students Shared goal made at beginning of group meeting Reward given when students reach shared goal

CWU CAMP MENTORING PROGRAM Incoming students are assigned past CAMP students as mentors Mentors are paid employees and trained as such Mentees fill out a form with interests and contact info Mentors are sent letters with mentee contact info prior to the start of the year and encouraged to make contact with them Activities such as ice cream social and mentor/mentee BBQ scheduled for students to meet each other Mentor program enhances program retention

Academic Progress Reports Conducted mid semester to ensure students are progressing in good academic standing. Counseling appointment is scheduled to review APR with student. Mandatory tutoring is implemented, if needed.

Mandatory Study Hours Every Friday, CAMP students complete mandatory study hours from 8-12pm English and math tutors are on site One on one meetings with CAMP staff Opportunity to see CAMP students on a weekly basis to ensure student progress and retention Interventions are implemented to ensure student success

CAMP Cafe Biweekly 1 hour discussions Convert CAMP office into Café setting (coffee, hot chocolate, donuts) Facilitate discussion on current events, controversial topics Goal is to develop critical thinking, public speaking, build self confidence

CAMP Student Internship Program (CAMP Si) Students have the opportunity to gain work experience in their chosen field of study. Designed to assist students in determining if chosen major is right for them.
