Why Syrup? Serving Your Reserves to University Populations

About Syrup Originated within Project Conifer. Art Rhyno and Graham Fawcett of the University of Windsor were primary developers. The code is available in the Evergreen git repository.

Divergent Needs University of Windsor Electronic reserves was primary focus. Integration with student management system. MassLNC Physical reserves and Evergreen integration Run multiple instances of Syrup when installed in consortial environment.

Some Technical Requirements Built on Django (Python) Requires OpenSRF with Python bindings enabled. Can use PostgreSQL database. Other dependencies identified in README

USING SYRUP

Service Desk names do not need to match anything in your database, but can be any user-friendly to describe where course materials are.

Add Course allows you to identify a main course that may or may note have multiple sections.

A course site identifies a specific section of the course with an instructor, starting/ending term, and service desk assigned to it.
