How to be a driving force in eLearning Driving forces – the technologies Stable technologies; Efficient technical infrastructures providing tools that enable: synchronous communication (chat): real time, learners have the feeling of being there, asynchronous communication (e-mail, forum): more flexible as they permit the learner to reflect on the answers, specially important if the language used in the training is not the learners mother tongue; Sites where learners can use e-mail, discussion foruns, bulletin boards, downloads and uploads of files; Possibility to update information: share and edit documents. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The 2nd Promise Conference Prague 16th September 2004 Francisca Soares

How to be a driving force in eLearning Driving Forces – teacher / tutor / facilitator The most important role in the eLearning process; Tutor as a guide and facilitator giving constant feedback to the learners; Should function as a scaffold to the learners in all the process; Should be available when needed; Enthusiastic and able to show empahty; His role is to find, adapt and deliver knowledge using a variety of techniques appropriate to the needs of the learner; ICT support from someone experienced in this field. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The 2nd Promise Conference Prague 16th September 2004 Francisca Soares
