2. He was a Chinese communist leader and founder of the people. Mao was born on 26 of December 1893 into a peasant family in Shaun shard. Mao went to train to become a teacher. In 1921 he became a member of the chinese communist party.

3. In 1923 the Kuomintang surrounded them. Mao lead the long march a 6000 mile journey. In 1958 in an attempt to introduce more chinese communism he launched the great leap forward. In September 1967 with many cities on the verge of anarchy Mao sent in the army to restore order. Mao died in September 1974.

4. The cultural revolution began in 1966.. In august 1966 at a meeting of the plenum of center committee it started the leader was Mao Zedong. The cultural revolution continued in various phases. 1.5 million people were killed during the cultural revolution.

5. President lui Shao qi and other communist leader were removed from power. There was a group called the red guard a group of youth who banned themselves together. No one was safe criticism: writers, economist anyone associated with the man Mao. Anyone who was deemed to have developed a superior attitude was considered an enemy of the party and people.

6. The Great leap Forward took place in 1958.The Great Leap Forward planned to develop articulate and industry. Mao believed that they both grow to allowed to other groups. The geographical size of a commune varied but most contained about 5000 families. At the end of 1958,700 millions people had been placed into 26,578 communes.

7. The Great leap forward also encouraged communes to set up “back- yard” production plants. The most famous were 600,000backyard furnaces which products steels for the communes. When all of these furnaces were working, they added a considerable amount of steel to china’s annual total-1.1 million tones.

8. Tiananmen Square is a large city square in the Centre of Beijing, china, named after the Tiananmen (gate of heavenly peace) located to its north, separating it from the forbidden city. Tiananmen Square is the fourth largest city square in the world(440,000 m2-880x500 m or 109 acres- 960x550 yd).
