Unwrap a Model? Complex, Organic meshes are unwrapped to be textured. An image is made that matches the unwrapped model. Build-It-Yourself.com
5
This technique unwraps the faces of a mesh into a flat surface. You can draw a texture on this map, and the 3D program (Blender) will map the image back onto the model. Build-It-Yourself.com
6
Make a “Seam” to Unwrap Around The mesh will “unfold” from this seam. Build-It-Yourself.com

Go to the UV/Image Editor Build-It-Yourself.com
10
Add a Blank Image By adding a new image, the enabling texture painting, you can draw on the mesh in a way. Try drawing on the texture. Now go to the 3d work area to see its effect! Build-It-Yourself.com

Go back into the 3d view to see this texture (or what you made) on your cube! Build-It-Yourself.com

Add YOUR Name to YOUR Rocket! Now that you know how to make a texture, let’s label your rocket. Remember, this is only on of many ways to texture. Keep practicing to learn them all. Build-It-Yourself.com
14
Now Let’s Add Some Detail Now you know the basics of blender: 1.Modeling (object/edit modes) 2.Texturing (UV/Image editing) 3.Materials (basic changes to surfaces) 4.Game Engine (intro to logic) Add some cool designs to your rocket. Maybe a texture of metal for the hull or screws for the cockpit? You’re the builder so you decide! Build-It-Yourself.com

Want more Blender? Email John or myself if you want to keep learning. We may lead interns further into this software if anybody is interested. I hope you all have enjoyed learning Blender 3D as much as I have enjoyed teaching it. Build-It-Yourself.com
