Dr. Zanete Garanti GIVING POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS

Even if you nail the content, design and structure, it doesn’t mean a thing if no one sees it. Presentations aren’t merely documents or files; they are a dynamic experience shared between a presenter and their audience. A great presentation is only as good as the delivery – both by the presenter and by the presentation technology they use. Whether presenting in a boardroom, off an iPad, over the Web or as a print-out, the right delivery can make all the difference between a great presentation, a missed opportunity or a presentation disaster. All the other elements don’t matter if the delivery just doesn’t work. IMPORTANCE OF GIVING PRESENTATIONS

1. DO NOT READ FROM YOUR SLIDES

Know your point Frame your message Refine your story HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE PRESENTATION

Example: you show a graph, but your description (speech) is not written in the slide. 2. ALWAYS HAVE MORE TO TELL

IMPACTFUL PRESENTER

3. DO NOT TELL «IN THIS SLIDE WE SEE...»

Discuss, ask questions, find common interests 4. RELATE WITH THE LISTENERS

5. REMEMBER THAT PEOPLE COME TO LISTEN TO YOU TALK, NOT TO READ YOUR SLIDES

6. REHEARSE YOUR TALK BUT DO NOT MEMORIZE IT
