2 Steps to make a purchase  Consumer behavior refers to as a buyer reacts against the particular situation of a consumer product or service.  According to William Stanton (Fundamentals of Marketing, McGraw Hill, Stanton, 1994), the purchase decision process follows five steps: recognition of the need, choice of level of involvement, identification of alternatives, evaluation of alternatives, purchase and post- purchase behavior. This decision process is influenced by: Information, social pressures and group psychological pressure and situational factors.

3 1. R ecognition of the need The recognition among or identification of the need to motivate action. 2. Choice of level of involvement The second step is the involvement that the consumer chooses to have. If it is a very important need for it, spend time, seek information, evaluate options and will have some degree of brand loyalty. 3. Identification of alternatives When the client is in need should be identified that way you can satisfy it. The number of options to search based on your level of involvement

4 4. Evaluation of alternatives This step is the evaluation of the alternatives, taking into account the different factors for assessment: experience, suggestions and advice. 5. Purchase Finally, the decision to purchase. Among the many factors that influence the buyer is to decide the purchase are: proximity, efficiency, price, warranty, added value, convenience and product mix offered. And post-purchase behavior, this refers to the reaction after the consumer will have made the purchase, if favorable to recommend the product or service. http://www.gestiopolis.com/canales5/emp/pymecommx/13.htm
