2 Inserting Clip Art 1. Make sure your slide layout contains at least one content placeholder 2. Click the Clip Art icon and select an image from the pop-up menu (people)

4 Inserting Pictures 1. Click the insert tab 2. Then click on the picture button 3. Locate the Picture you want to insert (from file) 4. Click the insert button

6 Inserting Charts 1. Make sure your slide layout contains at least one content placeholder 2. Double click the Chart icon and select a chart from the pop-up menu (bar graph) 3. Change information 4. Change chart type by right clicking on the chart and selecting chart type

9 Slide Transition 1. Click on the slide show tab in the tool bar 2. Choose slide transitions (arrow up and down to choose transitions) 3. Click apply to all

10 Animation 1. Highlight text or an image and right-click on it 2. Select custom animation from the drop down bar 3. Click on the pull down arrow where it says no effect (select an effect) 4. Click on preview to see animations and then click okay

11 How to animate… Well, anything!

12 Hyperlinks 1. Type the website address (or copy & paste) 2. Then press the spacebar or enter 3. This will create a hyperlink to a website

13 Hyperlinks 1. If the address is too long… 2. Highlight the text.. Right-Click the highlighted area… Choose Edit Hyperlink 3. At the top of the pop-up window, highlight and delete the text 4. Type the text you would like displayed on the slide… Click ok button

14 Insert Movies 1. Click the Insert tab 2. Click the Movie button 3. Select Movie from File 4. Locate the video file… Double-click the file to insert the video (choose play video when clicked, this allows you to start and pause the video)

15 5.To play the movie or GIF automatically when you go to the slide, click Automatically. 6.To play the movie or GIF only when you click it, click When Clicked.

16 Movies 1. To play the video, click the slide show button in the tool bar (or hit f5) 2. When you reach the video slide, click the video to play it… Click again to pause it 3. A video doesn’t become part of the file like a picture does. (create a folder to store your PowerPoint presentations and videos together)

18 Review Games 1. On desk top (click My Computer icon) 2. Double-click the (Z) Drive 3. Open PD Folder… Open Bell, R folder 4. Double-click the Pick Up Folder 5. Right-click the Review Game Folder(copy) 6. Address bar, click the pull-down arrow 7. Select the (X) drive with your username

19 Adding Review Game Questions and Answers 1. Paste folder and rename it to help identify the topic (right-click review game folder … select rename) 2. Double click to open the renamed review game folder 3. You should see 4 items: Baseball, Jeopardy, Q & A Database, & Tip Sheet

20 4. Double-click the Q & A Database file (Only enter category, question, answer and incorrect information/ don’t change size of cells) 5. Type a category name in each of the (6) yellow category cells 6. In the Question column, type (5) questions for each category

21 7. In the Answer column, type the correct answer for each question 8. In the incorrect b, c and d columns, type distracters for each question (this is optional.. Jeopardy & baseball don’t have multiple choice options) 9. On the top menu, click File.. Save now click the x button to exit

22 Begin Review Games 1. Open review game folder 2. Double-click the type of game you want… 3. A pop-up notice will appear… click Update links button 4. From the top ribbon, click the slide show tab.. Choose from beginning or hit f5 to start 5. If a security alert appears.. Choose Enable this content.. Click ok 6. Click the start button to begin the review game

23 Playing, Scoring and Exiting Review Games 1. The buttons are similar in Jeopardy and Baseball 2. Select a question number link from the Question Board 3. The question will appear 4. Give the students and opportunity to answer the questions 5. Check their answer by clicking the ? button

24 6. If it was correct click the thumbs up 7. If not correct click thumbs down 8. The next slide will display points to award/deduct on the scoreboard 9. The scores have to be entered manually.. Highlight and type to make changes

25 10. When the game is over, click the x in the upper-right corner or press escape button 11. A pop-up window will appear, click the Don’t save button
