A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun. Example: When mom and dad go golfing, they usually rent a golf cart.

Example: The volleyball team was determined, so they won the match. The noun replaced by the pronoun is called the antecedent. Team is the They is the antecedent. pronoun.

Examples The pretty girl bought three shirts. We are going to the Atlantic Ocean My brother is excited about camp. The tired baby started to cry. The bright sun made it hard to see. The loud student had a question.
