Time Zones are a geographical world globe division of 15 o each, starting at Greenwich, in England, created to help people know what time is it now in another part of the world. Nowadays it is much more a political division than geographical, because sometimes people needs to have the same time as other people in not-so-far locations. And for energy savings reasons, we have today the Daylight Savings Time, that are also a Time Zone variation. International Date Line is the imaginary line is the dividing point for two calendar days.

Travel agents should explain the time zone to their clients who will be traveling to different parts of the world. Traveling to destinations in different time zones typically alters their sleeping patterns.

Destination Time Zone and Land Form

Perhaps no other industry is more dependent on climate than travel and tourism. WHY? From warm, sunny, beachfront resorts, to majestic, snowy mountains, and turbulence- free flights, nearly every aspect of the industry is better off and more profitable when the weather is stable and predictable, and travelers can move about safely and without disruption.

Climate change is also predicted to result in greater weather volatility and related risks to infrastructure. Such as: Beach Erosion Water Pollution (Man-Made) Floods Lack of Snow or Excess in some areas. Destruction of Infrastructure (i.e. buildings, roads, etc) – In small island states and developing countries, where tourism is a major ‎economic activity, any ‎significant reduction in tourist arrivals will have ‎serious employment impacts and generate ‎further poverty.‎
