Key learning from recent service strikes Planning for future works; Designated team (group) to visit / assess each location prior to commencement of works Teams to visit existing as well as new areas Consider sterilisation of work areas, typically where multiple operations and/or sub-contractors are to be working Use of Area Tag to identify ownership of current / future known hot spots? Identify (produce a log) of hot spots Review of protocol for extension of PTE, and by whom? Task lighting (provision, use and agreement for positioning of same prior to commencement of tasks)

Planning for future works; CAT scanning equipment; Review of training delivered to users (i.e. Site engineers and ground workers) Delivery of additional / refresher training Monitoring of compliance – i.e. Trained and competent user to monitor and provide feedback to user (akin to NVQ type assessment) Mentoring of company and sub-contract site engineers; Suggest a series of short “site based” workshops, typically at existing and new locations, and involving personnel key to works to be undertaken

In addition; Provision and use of Permit to Work (1) Board, (2) Controller, (3) Office Log of cable spikes to be produced / maintained – Task to be assigned to nominated personnel by site management Produce a library of key information including photographs, by time, location and group – a.k.a. As built records Use of safe system of work (SSOW) doc packs
