NDIA SE Division Meeting February 12, 2014 1 Education and Training Committee Report February 12, 2014 INCOSE IW 2014 Competency Working Group (CWG) Outcomes: The current INCOSE Competency Framework developed by the UK Chapter is the baseline. CWG members provided insight into new working competency models during the meeting. CWG agreed to have 5 levels of proficiency. Added “Senior Practitioner” CWG decided to take the 6 JCWG defined Competency Classes and determine the alignment to COMPOSE developed by the Naval Postgraduate School. COMPOSE = COmpetency Model for the Profession of Systems Engineering Look for gaps and assess completeness

Align proficiency levels with ASEP, CSEP and ESEP certifications. Drive to a 0.5 version of the SE Competency Framework for review by INCOSE CAB. Way Ahead: Analyze each class with COMPOSE March 1, 2014 Develop v0.5 of Framework August 1, 2014 Review v0.5 with CAB & CWG October 1, 2014 Adjudicate comments/update to v0.75 December 15, 2014 Evaluate draft v0.75 at IW 2015 January, 2015 Continue Joint Competency Working Group meetings
