Gothenburg Gothenburg is Sweden’s second largest town with around 600 thousand inhabitants. It is located on the west coast of Sweden (see the map).

The city has two airports. The biggest is landvetter airport which is situated almost two swedish miles away from the city. The second airport is called säve city airport. It is a pretty small airport with almost only private planes. In the city there are three big fooball clubs there are many more clubs but the three biggest are ÖIS, GAIS and IFK Göteborg. After a very exciting season IFK won the Swedish football league called allsvenskan and became Swedish champions. In the city there are two football stadiums. One is called New Ullevi and the other one is called old Ullevi. But they demolished it and are now building a new arena on the spot where old Ullevi was located.

In Gothenburg the world´s biggest youth tournament is played. It is called Gothia cup and many teams from all over the world are participating in the cup. Maybe you have heard of it? The world´s biggest youth handball cup is also played in the city. It is called Partille cup.

There is also a good ice-hockey team in town. It is called Frölunda Indians. They are playing their matches in a stadium called Scandinavium where 12,044 spectators can see their matches.

The biggest shopping street in Gothenburg is called Avenyn. It is located at central Gothenburg and has a big square at the top of the street called ”Götaplatsen”.

Liseberg There is also a big amusmentpark called Liseberg. The biggest tree rollercoaster in whole Scandinavium is located in the park. It is called Balder.

Gothenburg is also an old dock city. It also has a big kind of warehouse place where you can buy fresh fish. It is called “Fiskekyrka”. in the summer the Archipelago in the sea outside of Gothenburg is very nice. You can take several boats out to the archipelago all year round with just a busticket. So if you come to Gothenburg visit all these places!
