Technology in Social Studies Instruction İrem Sak

What is ‘Social Studies’ Integrated study of the social sciences and humanities to promote civic competence –anthropology, archaeology, criminology, economics, education, linguistics, political science and international relations, sociology, geography, history, law, and psychology

The primary purpose of social studies is to help young people develop the ability to make informed and reasoned decisions for the public good as citizens of a culturally diverse, democratic society in an interdependent world.

Curriculum and Instructions Teachers and curriculum designers are encouraged first to establish their program frameworks using the social studies standards as a guide, and then to use the standards from history, geography, civics, economics, and others to guide the development of grade level strands and courses. Using all of these standards in concert with one another allows educators to give adequate attention to both integrated and single discipline configurations

Implementation of Technology Integration in the Social Studies Classroom Phase 1: Determining Relative Advantage Phase 2: Decide on Objectives and Assessment Phase 3: Design Integration Strategies Phase 4: Preparing Environment Phase 5: Evaluate and Revise
