 The king became anger with two of his servants: Wine pourer and baker.  He put them in jail in the care of Joseph.  The two servants had dreams and Joseph interpreted the dreams.  They foreshadowed the servants futures.  Josephs predictions came true.

 Key events: Joseph interpreted the king’s servants dreams in jail.  Place: a jail in Egypt  Theme: God spoke through Joseph to tell the servants what would happen.  Characters: Joseph, Wine pourer, King, Baker and God  God is involved by acting through Joseph.

 Listen to what other have tell you because it could help you in the end.  No matter what trust in God and do what he tells you.  We should act like Joseph.  Because he helped the servants even though he didn’t have to. “Joseph said to him in reply ‘This is what it means the three baskets are three days; within three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and have you impaled on a stake and the birds will be pecking the flesh off your body.” Genesis 40: 18-19

 The criminals crucified along with Jesus are represented by the servants of the King.  The wine pourer represents the man who asked for forgiveness.  The baker represents the one who does not follow God.

 By trusting God and having faith will help you to grow closer to God.  God will help you be guided to heaven, and lead you away from temptations.  Others can help you along the way.

 Pharaoh had two dreams: Both had 7 years of famine and 7 years of abundance.  Joseph opened all the cities during the famine and rationed the food for the Egyptians  Pharaoh took Joseph out of prison to interpret his dreams. Everything he said came true.

 Key characters: Pharaoh, Joseph, and God  Events: Pharaoh’s dreams, Joseph traveling to Egypt, Joseph interpreting the dreams.  Theme: 7 years of famine and abundance  Place: Egypt

 We can listen to what our spiritual leaders tell us.  We should act like Joseph because he is messenger of God.  Pharaoh looked through magicians to interpret the dream instead of God. “When the 7 years of abundance enjoyed by the land of Egypt the 7 years of famine set in just as Joseph had predicted.” Genesis 41:53-54

 The 7 years of famine is like before creation  The 7 years of abundance is like the 7 days God made the world.  Joseph rationed the wheat as Jesus distributed the fish and bread.

 Always look to God for help.  Always be positive in a bad situation because God will make it good.  With God all things are possible.
