WORK SCHEDULES/ WORK SIMPLIFICATION Work Schedules Inform employees of set deadlines Assign specific jobs Steps in planning a work schedule 1. Plan the menu 2. List employees 3. Use the appropriate form 4. Establish service times/start and finish times 5. Work back from lunch times 6. Time limits 7. Determine if each employees hours are to the advantage 8. Determine what needs to be done and who will complete it Work Simplification “speed up” work and increase productivity Eliminate unnecessary jobs Combine jobs Arrange Sequence Arrange work areas to be more efficient

MANAGEMENT/LEADERSHIP manage Most think that management and leadership are the same thing. They are fundamentally VERY different. Management focuses on work/activities Planning Organizing Controlling Directing Resource use Time management Logistic/supply chain Finance/money management Budgeting Strategy Decision making Problem solving It is important to be able to play both roles. The person who can do both is on the right path to succeed. lead People should not be managed, this leaves them feeling like an object. Manage things lead people. Leadership focuses on people and how the can be influenced.
