What is skill-related fitness? Areas of physical fitness that are often associated with games and sports Comprised of 6 areas

Agility Ability to change the position of your body quickly and to control your body’s movements.

Examples of agility … FOOTBALL FASTPITCH BASKETBALL

Balance Ability to keep an upright posture while standing still or moving.

Examples of balance … TIGHT ROPE WALKING STRETCHING

Coordination Ability to use your senses together with your body parts, or to use two or more body parts together.

Examples of coordination … BASEBALL RUNNING

Power Ability to move strength quickly.

Examples of power … WEIGHT LIFTING DISCUS

Reaction Time Ability to react or respond quickly to what you hear, see, or feel.

Speed Ability to perform a movement or cover a distance in a short period of time.

Now … TIME TO WORKOUT!!! 12 station circuit 2 minutes at each station When whistle blows quickly complete the chart on the back of your note sheet and quickly rotate to the next station Identify skill-related fitness area Identify health-related component of fitness Sheet will be turned in at the end of class 30 points!!!
