Why use the EFQM Excellence Model? It is a comprehensive, systematic and regular review by an organization of its activities and results, referenced against a model of excellence It provides a well articulated framework for identifying areas for improvement and setting up an improvement plan with specific short and long-range targets

Why use the EFQM Excellence Model? The EFQM Excellence Model is not based on a top-down approach It is based on the concept that everyone is working together to identify strengths and weaknesses and to implement the necessary improvement plans Everyone is co-responsible for the well-being of the organization

Areas of Improvement Academic Program: Focus on exit skills of the Elementary and Middle Schools in five schools subjects (Greek Language, Math, Science, English and ICT) Extra Curricular Activities: Focus on environmental and ecological programs in order to increase student involvement and create a campus that is environment friendly. Policy and Strategy: Focus on improving communication between the administration, teachers and students through ICT

Challenges of using the EFQM Excellence Model The EFQM Model had to be adapted to suit school The EFQM Model had to be adapted to suit school needs without changing its basic structure needs without changing its basic structure The EFQM questionnaire had to be translated into Greek and the language adapted for use by schools, e.g. customer, management The questionnaire had to be adapted to reflect the particular needs and structure of the College

Advantages of using the EFQM Excellence Model The faculty is involved in reflecting on and resolving problems that concern them The decision and responsibility taken on by the faculties of each school to implement change brings a new dynamic process to the school The EFQM Excellence Model is the means for initiating a school-wide self-assessment process in our school
