Aila Cyclone -2009  The devastation unleashed by “Aila” cyclone deprived millions of people of their homes, leaving them a narrow stretch of land on high grounds or an elevated concrete road to survive.  The Government of West Bengal sought assistance from Ham volunteers in the region to bridge the communication gap and for backup communications at remote locations.

PROJECTS / PROGRAMS  Public Sector Enterprises to establish Amateur Radio Clubs in schools of ONGC and IOC Gujarat Refinery.  Partnership with CARE-India to promote Amateur Radio in India.  A major programme for the promotion of Amateur Radio in Orissa State in Collaboration with United Nations Development Program (UNDP).  A “Project on Digital Connectivity - Urban, Rural & Remote Areas through Amateur Radio” supported by Dept. of Information Technology, Govt. of India.10 centres were started in different parts of India.  “Propagation conditions in Amateur Radio communication for costal areas” of Tamilnadu supported by Dept. of Information Technology, Govt. of India. 10 centres functioned for this project.
