Prevention What can be done to prevent discipline problems? Know and express yourself clearly. Know your students. Make your classroom a motivating place. Teach responsibility and caring. Establish effective rules and consequences. Keep yourself current. Deal with stressful conflict.
6
Action What can be done when discipline problems occur? Stop the misbehavior quickly. Get back to teaching. Keep students in class. Implement consequence. Collect data.
7
Resolution What can be done for students who continue to misbehave? Find what is needed to prevent another problem. Develop a mutually agreeable plan. Implement the plan. Monitor/revise plan if necessary. Use creative/unconventional approaches when necessary.
