Serving our communities, protecting them from harm Current Position The chart above shows the volume of recorded hate crime over the last 2 years. From 2011 to 2012, recorded hate crime reduced by -4% from 2,706 to 2,599.

Serving our communities, protecting them from harm Across the Country Hate crimes, England and Wales 2011/12 Of the 43,748 hate crimes recorded by the police: 35,816 (82%) were race hate crimes; WMP=86% 1,621 (4%) were religion hate crimes; WMP=4% 4,252 (10%) were sexual orientation hate crimes; WMP=9% 1,744 (4%) were disability hate crimes; WMP=1% 315 (1%) were transgender hate crimes.
