1 The Roman Forum Our Money Project
Years 3 and 4, Chaddlewood Primary School

2 What was the project all about?
The children… worked as a team used their imagination to think of a product no one else had made before found out how much things cost and how much they could sell their product(s) for

3 What was the project all about?
The children were asked to think of Roman or Tudor things that they could make and then sell at a special Historical Spring Fayre at the end of term.

4 Week 1 – The trip Week 1 Find out about how much things cost on our trip tomorrow Decide on the team of people you are going to work with Think about a possible product you could make Start to come up with some ideas in your team Decide on a product or products that you think you could make

5 Market research… at Mayflower Centre Gift Shop and the Aquarium Gift Shop
What products can you buy for less than £1.00? What is the most expensive thing you can find to buy? What would you choose to buy in this shop? How are the products laid out? Are particular things sold in certain places? Is it easy to tell how much things cost? How does the shop keeper give the product to the customer when they have bought it? Are the products good value for money?

6 Week 2 - preparations Week 2
Find out how much it will cost to make your product Find out how much people are ready to pay for your product Put together a presentation for Mr Mower to explain all about your product in order to get the £20 you need to get started Order the things you need to make your product

7 Our brilliant Roman Top Trumps and finger puppets
Roman top trumps cards. Great fun to play with your friends. Battle against each other to win cards. Materials: card, laminating pouches, colouring pencils. Play with our Roman felt finger puppets to make your own theatre.

8 Why are we selling it? During our research lots of people said ‘yes’ they would buy them. Top trumps are cheap to make. Both products are great fun to play with your friends when it’s raining. Collect them all.
