Tigers eat deer. Tigers eat rabbits. And eat all kinds of meat.

Tigers live in the jungle. Some tigers live in zoos. They live in Asia and Africa.

Adult tigers like to live alone (with the exception of mothers and their cubs). A tigers life span in the wild is thought to be about two years.

A hundred years ago there were over 100,000 tigers – today there are perhaps fewer than 5,000 – 95% have been wiped out

The tigers have a long body a shark neck and a firm head with a of sharp teeth. Males are generally longer and heavier than females. Females are usually 6 to 12 inches shorter in body length

White tigers are very rare animals. They are seen only in zoos. These animals are sometimes considered to be an albino species of tiger which they are not.

One hundred years ago it is estimated that 100,000 tigers of all varieties existed in the wild. There are only about 200 white tigers, all in zoos around the world.

The tiger is native only to China and has been listed as one of the 10 most endangered animals on the earth by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)

Wild females give birth once every 2 to 2.5 years. The interval between births is approximately three to four years, though should a litter of newborns die, a tigress is quite capable of producing another litter within only five months.
