4. Many important cities grew up along this line because the waterfalls provided power for factory machinery. (runs along the Atlantic Coast from the Texas – Mexico border to NY city)

5. A line of low mountains. The quality of the soil is mostly poor. However the “ Great valley ” from NY to Tennessee has fertile soil with many farms.

6. One of the USA’s most important agricultural area. Producing : grains, soya, beans livestock meats.

8. Includes the rich and fertile valleys of California, Oregon and Washington.
