1 Message from the Pastor: What’s New at DUMC? October, November, December 2015 “Don’t hesitate to be enthusiastic – be on fire for the Lord!” Romans 12:11 (CEB) As I have often said, church is a “team sport”. Sunday, October 4 is our opportunity to be “Team Dorranceton” led by the Holy Spirit. Everyone is invited to participate in “The Church Has Left the Building,” our annual day-long event of serving others together. Although there will not be a formal worship service on October 4, we will be together in teams worshipping God by baking, sewing, helping out at a soup kitchen, visiting nursing homes, projects with children and so much more. There is something for everyone to be a part of regardless of age or physical ability. At the end of the day, we will return to the church to break bread together while we share our experiences followed by an informal worship and Holy Communion. So bring whatever gift God has given you, and bring a friend to introduce/reintroduce him or her to Christ through fellowship with the people of God in a day of hands-on mission. If you haven’t seen someone in church for a while, let them know about this wonderful annual event. Let us be one body on fire and enthusiastic in our mission to change lives. See you on Sunday, October 4! Your partner in Christ, Pastor Deb Pastor: Rev.
