4 Objectives Define what you want your students to learn as a result of the lesson Helps you to come up with a sequence of activities to teach the lesson Eg. Story of Abraham offering Isaac Objective-To learn how complete trust and obedience in God can help us overcome difficulties in life and lead us to blessings

5 Pre-Lesson Activities Very important part of planning ~to start the lesson ~to engage the students into the lesson ~to help students make connections between their lives and Bible ~that can be a series of questions, a scenario, a game, or a song eg. Story of Abraham offering Isaac for a sacrifice Possible Questions 1. Name some of your favorite possessions. 2. How would you feel if someone ask you to get rid of it? What will be your response?

6 Lesson Narrate the story teach the main points make a brief summary of the actual text Acting out Debate/discussion of main points, children’s feelings and opinions about the events and main points Eg. Narrate or act out the story of Isaac being offered

7 Conclusion/Application State the moral or the lesson to be learned from the story Applications in real life A way to help students see the connections between pre-lesson questions, the story/lesson, and real life Eg. Abraham and Isaac loved God and lived in complete obedience to God. As a result, they were blessed by God. We should also obey and love God like them.

8 Post-Lesson Activities A fun way to help children ~remember lesson points ~unwind ~relax ~come to lesson closing It can be completion of corresponding workbook pages, acting out, sharing, or drawing of their favorite part, related songs, memory verse etc. Eg. Sing the action song, “Father Abraham had many sons, many sons had Father Abraham I am one of them, and so are you, so let’s all praise the Lord!” (right hand, left hand, right foot, left foot)

9 Assessment A quick way to see if the objectives of the lesson was met Can be workbook pages, oral questions, stating or writing the moral of the story etc.
