Inventory Controlling MM315_10.5 MM315 - Inventory Management Chapter 10 - Inventory Controlling: Review Logistics Information System is the central reporting and analysis system for all logistics activities, including sales information, inventory controlling, purchasing information, shop floor information, etc. Standard analyses are based on statistical data called "information structures". These information structures combine information related to characteristics, key figures, and periodicity (time units). Inventory controlling information involves the use of three key information structures: S031, S032, and S033. Data is written to these information structures as a result of goods movements and inventory verification/revaluation.

Inventory Controlling MM315_10.6 MM315 - Inventory Management Chapter 10 - Inventory Controlling: Review Quantities are updated in the base unit of measure, and currency amounts are always updated in the local currency defined for the company code. Document evaluations can be used to monitor stocks without updating statistical data by reading data directly from the documents. Some types of document evaluations include ABC analysis, inventory turnover, and slow-moving items.

Inventory Controlling MM315_10.7 MM315 - Inventory Management: Final Review You should: Know the three types of goods movements Understand the goods receipt process Identify which data on the material master apply to inventory management Know the different units of measure in the Material Master Know which documents are created for different goods movements Understand what a movement type controls Understand the difference between "blocked stock" and "GR Blocked Stock"

Inventory Controlling MM315_10.8 MM315 - Inventory Management Final Review You should: Understand how to use a reservation Understand the effects of a goods issue Understand the types of stock transfers and their effects on inventory. Know how to configure the key elements of inventory management, including units of measure, number assignments, and movement types. Understand the use of the Logistics Information System (LIS) in performing analysis and in controlling inventory.

Inventory Controlling MM315_10.9 MM315 - Inventory Management: Final Review You should be able to: Perform a physical stock transfer and a logical stock transfer Configure a new unit of measure and a new movement type List the settings for reservations Explain how using the LIS system assists in controlling inventory
