The General Assembly is bicameral, meaning having two houses The two houses are the Senate and the House of Representatives They are all elected by the people of Illinois They must be 21 years or older, a resident of the district for 2 years, and a U.S. citizen Salary: $67,836.00 annually plus $132 per diem In order to conduct business, the General Assembly needs a quorum – a majority of members
