Emotional contagion Basic form of empathy Emotional contagion is an automatic tendency to converge with another individual’s emotional state as a direct consequence of perception. Rodents also show emotional contagion! Carrillo et al., 2015; Panksepp et al., 2011

Techniques we use Electro-physiology :single cell recording Calcium imaging: See the shining neurons Pharmaco-behavioral (e.g. oxytocin) Behavior (e.g. prosocial behavior) Molecular biology (ELISA essays, PCR etc.)

Caveat Are you comfortable working with animals (rodents)? Do you like flexible working hours (sometimes long hours)? Do you like working as a team? Are you expecting your OWN study? - Semi independent experiment but not likely from your idea
