Approximately 85% of individuals with intellectual disabilities can live independently or in minimally supervised settings. These individuals typically can take public transportation, understand news events and handle money. Athlete Input Councils AIC rep to CEO Area Input Councils (AIC): -1 per Area -5 – 8 Athletes -Meets at least quarterly -Votes on one member to represented the Area on the State AIC State AIC --Quarterly webinar/conference calls - One member reports to CEO

Possible Athlete roles at events: Input Table Hosts Greeters Equipment Setup/Tear Down Opening Ceremonies speakers & contributors Lunch distribution Water monitors Media hosts

The Role of an ALPs Liaison Lead ALPs Workshops Communicate with State Office – give input, receive training, and update on needs/numbers Activate & Utilize Trained Athlete Leaders Recruit New Athlete Leaders Facilitate or find others facilitators for Area Athlete Input Councils

Unified Teams & Clubs University Students 18-25 Grade 12 graduates with ID 18-25 Social Activities & Unified Sports

SO College Structure Follows same structure as Master’s level community-based teams (coaches collaborate to scrimmage and then register for competition) Colleges wishing to host a separate invitational for other colleges may do so and will be given guidelines from SOWA staff for event planning. Teams should remain age appropriate. Students may coach, as they would any other intramural sport. Teams can be run as club or intramural activity.
