WHY A REVIEW NOW? 2012 AMENDMENT ALLOWS STUDENTS TO BEGIN TAKING DUAL ENROLLMENT CLASSES STARTING IN 9 TH GRADE & TO TAKE UP TO 10 DUAL ENROLLMENT CLASSES WHILE IN GRADES 9 – 12. BROADENED INCLUSION OF NON-PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS

HLC DUAL ENROLLMENT GUIDELINES 1.INSTITUTION REQUIRE THE SAME LEVEL OF CREDENTIALS & QUALIFICATIONS FOR FACULTY IN DUAL ENROLLMENT COURSES AND PROGRAM THAT IT DOES FOR ITS REGULAR HIGHER EDUCATION COURSES. 2.INSTITUTION MANDATES SAME LEVEL OF RIGOR IN DUAL ENROLLMENT COURSES AND PROGRAM AS IT DOES FOR ITS REGULAR HIGHER EDUCATION COURSES. 3.INSTITUTION EXPECTATIONS FOR STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES IN DUAL ENROLLMENT COURSES AND PROGRAM ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE SAME COURSES THAT THE INSTITUTION OFFERS AT ITS MAIN CAMPUS. 4.STUDENTS, AS WELL AS, FACULTY IN DUAL ENROLLMENT COURSES AND PROGRAM HAVE THE SAME LEVEL OF ACCESS TO LEARNING RESOURCES (LIBRARY, LABS, DATABASES, TUTORING, ETC) AS ALL STUDENTS. 5.THE INSTITUTION AND SPECIFICALLY ITS ACADEMIC DEPARTMENTS AND DISCIPLINARY FACULTY EXERCISES PROPER MONITORING AND OVERSIGHT OF ITS DUAL ENROLLMENT COURSES AND PROGRAM ACTIVITY TO ENSURE HIGHER EDUCATION STANDARDS.
