2. Purpose To observe osmosis in a cell.
1) Place eggs in vinegar to remove shell
2)Measure weight of eggs using a balance
3)Measure size of eggs using string and measuring tape
4)Place one egg in corn syrup and the other in water
5)Weight and measure the eggs again

3. Hypothesis Corn Syrup Egg
Egg get heavier because corn syrup is thick
Size will get thicker
Colour of egg might turn brownish

4. Hypothesis Water Egg Water egg Turn it a little bit pale
Weight would be same
Size would be same

6. Observations bEFORE AFTER Corn Syrup Weight- 71.3 Size- 17 cm

7. Observations Bubbles go up at top from egg
Floating, more bubbles and foam
Foam at top and more bubbles
24 hours later, egg turned soft and squishy
corn syrup egg =shrivelled, water egg= puffy

8. Conclusion of Water Egg
got larger
water moved in the egg
due to fact that egg had lower concentration than water
Water moves from higher concentration to lower concentration(egg)

9. Conclusion of Corn Syrup Egg
got smaller
water moved out of egg
due to fact that egg had lower concentration then water
water moved from higher concentration(egg)to lower concentration
