2   Smoking, as a major risk factor for the health of the pregnant women and her child, is an important matter of public health, influencing the development of the family and community as well.   Risk factors for pregnancy  Unbalanced diet of the pregnant women,  Woman’s age,  Under- or overweight  Alcohol abuse,  Social factors,  Physical overuse,  Stress   Smoking

Smoking before, during and after pregnancy is not an unusual behavior among the general population and can have detrimental health impacts, especially among both mother and child as a result. 4 Material and methods Our aim was to investigate the frequency of smoking before and during pregnancy into a group of pregnant women from Mures’s hospitals, and also risk factors associated with it. We used in 2013 a crossectional study based on a questionnaire assessing lifestyle and smoking behavior during pregnancy, in a group of 240 women from Mures county, with a mean age of 27.9 years.

The protection of the mother and her baby is a priority in healthcare because these population groups are most exposed to environmental risk factors and have an increased susceptibility to diseases

10 Some behavioral risk factors in pregnancy have to be followed closely by the General Practitioners, Midwife or the Obstetrical-Gynecology specialists in order to avoid complications and to maintain the health of the mother and fetus also.
