2 What is Trichomoniasis? It is VERY general. It is NOT life-long or threatening. Large amount of women & men who have the parasite can’t tell they are infected by “trich”.

3 How is Trichomoniasis spread? It takes five to twenty-eight days to get infected. By having unprotected vaginal, anal, or oral sex. Not treating it right away. Various sex partners. Someone who has it. History with STI/STDs Prior infections

4 Treated and Untreated… Metronidazole (Flagyl) Tinidazole (Tindamax) For men, it causes damage to the prostate and bladder. For women, inflamed fallopian tubes and damage to the tissues of the cervix. Metronidazole (Flagyl) Tinidazole (Tindamax)

5 Symptoms… Strong smelly discharge. It is usually green, yellow, and grey. It also be foamy too. Discomfort during sex or urinating. Rare lower abdominal pain. Itching or irritation inside your penis.☺ Some discharge. Burning feeling after urination or ejaculation. WomenMen

6 Are pregnant women effected? If a pregnant women has the “trich” her baby will be born early, or have low birth weight. It can be transmitted to the baby through the birth canal.

7 Should you and your partner wait before having sex after being treated? No, it is a bad idea to have sex while treatment, and should at least wait a week after treatment is done.

8 What were the treatments for Trichomoniasis hundreds or thousands of years ago.

9 Trichomoniasis Statistics 500 million people become ill with at least one of these four STIs: chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis and trichomoniasis.
