23 Jan 2007Sergio Grancagnolo8 There is inconsistency between TGC cabling database in release 12.0.4 and <12.0.4. <5% efficiency loss with older release for high pT muon(20GeV) <5% efficiency loss with older release for high pT muon(20GeV) with eta~1.2 and FWD region (small effect for low pT muon) with eta~1.2 and FWD region (small effect for low pT muon) LVL1 Muon Endcap Simulation: Current Status The latest version : TrigT1TGC-00-01-18-05 (collected in 12.0.4) [1]Use RDO generated by release 12.0.3x Execute TrigT1TGC with release 12.0.4 since coincidence window is not optimal [2]Use RDO generated by release <12.0.3 MuonRdoToMuonDigit.ApplyPatchForTGC = True Patch will be introduced in release 13 so that user can use RDO (not necessary to start from HIT). To get the latest LVL1 endcap muon trigger performance to get correct IDs.

23 Jan 2007Sergio Grancagnolo14 Offline Emulation Inner station has less coverage than medium-outer stations. To check impact on acceptance of a three point measurements vs two point measurements, an offline emulation of the LVL2 Fast has been implemented in the endcaps, using also the inner station measurement. Resolutions function of eta,phi (local). Pt=-6 GeV Preliminary Offline studies Results agree with online code. Loss in acceptance only in some marginal regions. Including inner station, resolution improves (<10%) in most regions except some eta, phi regions

23 Jan 2007Sergio Grancagnolo15 Without TRT BARREL: Algorithm for the barrel finalized for 12.0.3 Matching with the ID track done at the external surface of the CALO – match, match & z match all studied with respect the muon p T –matching efficiency 99.2% with 3 performance checked with a new single muon production (11.0.6) used ~ 1.5x10 6 events produced with the spread of the interaction point cut on the matching window optimized for muon tracks with p T of 6 GeV Comb: physics performance Barrel Endcap: as of now no back extrapolation is available, hence the association between ID and muon track is driven only by the p T estimated in the two subdetectors

23 Jan 2007Sergio Grancagnolo16 Performances with misaligned data check of performances while LUTs and alignement of geometry are not optimal use of the available sample at 5,10,50,100,300 GeV –misaligned geometry: ATLAS-CSC-01-02-00 performance of Fast is lowered but Comb almost recover it –no TRT propagation of IDSCAN always used
17
23 Jan 2007Sergio Grancagnolo17 LVL2 on-going work Work in progress (ready for 13.0.0): deploying the pattern recognition in the innermost endcap refining p T estimation with the use of innermost station back extrapolation for the combined reconstruction in the endcap correcting the LVL2 geometry model with the alignment accessing the MDT configuration database online access of the MDT calibration constants
