Fact First Questioning Application Scenario Guidelines Application scenarios describe a technological design process students use to solve a problem. The problem must be one that involves a physical, Earth/space, or living system. Write out the steps of a technological design process.
4
Glossary Definition Technological design process: A sequence of steps used to define and solve a problem. The steps may include: defining the problem in terms of criteria and constraints, gathering information about the problem through research, generating ideas for possible solutions, synthesizing or selecting of one or more promising ideas or solutions, constructing a plan or model to test the proposed idea or solution, redesigning if needed and communicating the results

Problem: Lift a heavy stump out of a hole. Explore Ideas: Use a long lever to lift the heavy stump. Pull the stump up a ramp. Lift the stump with a pulley. Get more people and all lift the stump at once. Using some or all of the materials shown, describe how you would design a way of lifting an even heavier stump. Part 1 A series of MC Questions Part 2 Solution Redesign Big Idea – Forces & Motion
