Understanding the fabric of our community / comprendre le tissu de notre communauté S OCIAL C OMPETENCE A child vulnerable in this domain has: “problems following rules and classroom routines, being respectful of adults, children, and others’ property, having self- confidence and self-control, and adjusting to change; and is usually unable to work independently” (ON – 9.3%)

(ON – 10.3%)

Understanding the fabric of our community / comprendre le tissu de notre communauté L ANGUAGE & C OGNITIVE D EVELOPMENT A child vulnerable in this domain is “unable to read and write simple words, is uninterested in trying, and is often unable to attach sounds to letters; has difficulty remembering things, counting to 20, recognizing and comparing numbers; and is usually not interested in numbers ” (ON – 9.6%)

Understanding the fabric of our community / comprendre le tissu de notre communauté C OMMUNICATION S KILLS & G ENERAL K NOWLEDGE A child vulnerable in this domain has: “poor communication skills and articulation; has limited command of English, has difficulties in talking to others, understanding, and being understood, and has poor general knowledge” (ON – 12.1%)

Vulnerability on 2 or more domains has decreased and is less than the provincial average (13.9%).

Understanding the fabric of our community / comprendre le tissu de notre communauté EDI S UB -D OMAINS EDI domains are broken down into sub-domains Based on the skills and abilities within each sub-domain, children’s scores were identified as meeting the developmental expectations by the following categories: All / Almost All Some Few / None Of particular interest are children who are meeting Few or None of the developmental expectations. An investigation of the proportion of children who fall into the Few/None category will identify areas of the greatest weakness in the population.
