Customer Application Customer has a thermocouple measuring bearing temperature on a critical piece of equipment. He would like to feed the temperature back to his PLC for data collection. There is a 0 to 10 VDC input card available on the PLC. The temperature of 0 to 100° would be scaled to the 0 to 10 VDC. Would like an alarm, if the temperature exceeds a 85°. A local display is not required for this application.
7
Application Breakdown Has a J Type Thermocouple input Requires a 0 –10 VDC output, that represents 0 to 100 ° Requires an alarm output at 85 ° A display is not required
8
Potential Solutions PAXT with analog and relay card DLC with analog output Or the new IAMS
9
What is an IAMS?
10
Three Models Available Retransmitted Analog Output (IAMS0001) Setpoint Outputs (IAMS0010) Both Analog and Setpoints (IAMS0011)
11
IAMS Highlights Universal Input (DC current, DC voltage, TC, RTD, potentiometer, linear resistance) Universal Power Supply (AC or DC) Analog Output Dual Setpoint Outputs 3-Way Isolation (power/signal/output) Programs in seven different languages ( English, German, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, French)

Hold on! The customer has just changed their mind. Hold on!
34
The customer would now like to have a display. They also need to be able to communicate the display information to some additional equipment via RS485. Redundant control of the temperature setpoint would not be a bad idea. They would also like the solution to be mounted on a DIN rail. New Requirements
35
Application Breakdown Need a display Wants to communicate via RS485 Requires an alarm output at 85 ° DIN rail mountable
